Haryana
Haryana lies around Delhi and has a landscape shaped by old settlements, pilgrimage centres, battlefields and sites connected with different periods of Indian history. Though my exploration of the state is still limited, this page brings together the places in Haryana covered in Indian Columbus.
Kurukshetra
Kurukshetra is among the best-known historical and sacred destinations in Haryana. The city is closely associated with the Mahabharata and the battlefield where the Bhagavad Gita is traditionally believed to have been delivered.
Beyond this association, Kurukshetra has several temples, sacred water bodies and places connected with its long religious tradition. It is a destination where history, faith and cultural memory are closely intertwined.
Explore my Kurukshetra article for photographs, places of interest and observations from the visit.
More destinations from Haryana will be added here as Indian Columbus continues to explore the state.
